Who are Tried & Tested?

 Tried & Tested actually started life as Tried Tested Trusted, formed in 2002 by Stuart Smith and funded by a small bank loan. A borrowed marquee we attended some small dog shows and agricultural events, the following year new marquees were purchased, the product range increased and bigger shows were attended.

In 2003 Stuart met Rachel Brown (that's another story) and in July2004 Rachel became part owner of the company, this enabled further expansion and the creation of our brochure and website. At this stage we were attending 50-60 shows a year and practically living on the road.

Early 2006 saw a few changes, we decided to drop some of the county/agricultural shows due to poor attendance. This not only gave us more time to focus on other areas of the company but more time at home. One of the more significant changes was a chance meeting with Shires Equestrian, arguably the largest equestrian supplier in the UK. This resulted in a move away from the mainstream shows to events such as Chatsworth Horse Trials.

We also dropped the Trusted from our name, not because nobody trusted us anymore but it was too much of a mouthful.

So here we are August 2007, we have come a long way since 2002. Again more changes this year, we have now become Tried & Tested (UK) Ltd. We have cut the number of shows to approx 20 and attend such shows as Badminton Horse Trials, Hickstead, Horse of the Year show and other specially selected events.

We have moved to our very 1st warehouse in Milton Keynes and very shortly will be taking on our 1st member of staff. Our new website went live in June, we think it's much better than the old one, easier to navigate, quicker and a much clearer layout. One great feature is the ability to see at glance if an item is in stock or unavailable. We still have a lot to do on it though and have hundreds of new products still to go on it.
